Professional Mold Removal Process Outline

Create a Scope of Work

We perform our initial inspection to identify affected areas. This may include measurements and equipment to determine moisture and temperature differences in suspected areas. Client may request professional indoor air sampling and testing with laboratory results. St. George Disaster Restoration is the only company in Southern Utah providing professional indoor air sampling and testing. Once we determine the severity of the mold infestation we can more accurately provide a scope of the work required.

Cause and Source

We confirm the cause and source of the infestation and what will be required to remedy the situation.

Containment

Because various types of mold spread by airborne spores, we will immediately contain the affected area by covering ventilation for HVAC access, closing off open areas and "tarping" the affected area or room. We create temporary walls and enclose the contamination.

Negative Pressure

We create negative air pressure in the space to force stop all future spread of mold spores. This is done with HEPA air filtration units that pull airborne spores out of the air and remove 97.97% of dust, pollen, mold, bacteria and any airborne particles at .3 microns.

Remove mold-infested items from the area

Anything that cannot be cleaned and salvaged from the area will need to be removed including carpeting, drywall or furniture. We follow all EPA guidelines and the IICRC standard for safely handling the removal of mold.

Treatment

We professionally treat foundational, structural and existing areas for mold eradication, then professionally dry the area with equipment designed to pull all moisture out of the ceiling, walls and materials in the treated area.

Final Walkthrough

Visual inspection, testing and final walkthrough by one of our mold mitigation specialists to confirm the area is clean and dry from any microbial growth and that the remediation process is complete.
